You think the convergence of technology and the social zeitgeist is cool and no one but your dog listens to you? Then we are your group.
Do people furrow their brows in a desperate attempt to understand why you or anyone would care about the latest Linux distro? You found a home.
But fear not, this is not for the technophiles - we are all influenced and changed by technology throughout each day of our lives. It is important to discuss these matters in person (we are a social species) before rushing out to get on line to buy the next iPhone, send that email to your boss or accept that "friend" on Facebook.
Technology is not passive - just our current attitude about it is. Many feel that this has to change.
Our group is composed of people from all fields: academic, software developers, IT managers, information security managers, law enforcement, government, investigators, lawyers and anyone who realizes that there needs to be a public discourse about not just information but the means by which it is delivered - and the resulting consequences.
. . join us . .
"The newest computer can merely compound, at speed, the oldest problem in the relations between human beings, and in the end the communicator will be confronted with the old problem, of what to say and how to say it."
- Edward R. Murrow
